The other day all of us were proud of own country, which had a reputation of the most dynamic, flexible and stable countries in a rapidly changing and challenging world. While the rest of Europe stagnated, our Britain fought its way back into the first rank of nations. But a combination of economic shocks and political mismanagement is threatening to inflict severe damage to this reputation of GB.
Unfortunately I have to agree with Gerard Baker (
Comment & Columnists | Times Online), who considers that thanks to untalented current Labour ruling such “oldest and greatest continuously functioning democratic power” as GB slowly but surely turns into “a fully fledged Banana…but not republic”, better say, Banana Monarchy.
See for yourself! Recent fuel-price protests, continuous growth of food and energy prices, power cuts, the highest taxes in Europe, new airport terminals that lose our baggage and panicky budget measures to placate angry constituents – all these troubling signs indicate that Britain is withdrawing into economic stagnation, social disorder and political paralysis! No other developed country in Europe has such uncontrollable inflation now as the UK. In April our producer prices rose at an annual rate of 23%!
And yet Brown’s government does nothing to improve the situation in this country. Labour are useless. Get them out, especially their leader, Gordon Brown! Give us a general election this year! If we will get together as a nation like we did it in the times of WWII, we can win those who try to turn us into Latin-American-style country. It is style of Brown’s democracy, not British one!
