Default Labour to take back what's 'theirs'?

Don't get to carried away with the title, don't mean it literally...

However if, well when, Labour get defeated by the Tories and cast into Opposition will the Labour party be able to reconnect with its core voters?

The party will no doubt revert to an 'Old Left' mentality, shouting out any policy they can without the full worry of governance. Such a party could go on to criticise the Conservatives without worrying about government realities such as tax or resources and promote issues such as housing, social care and welfare.

Should this happen, then surely Labour would rebuild bridges with its lost heartlands, regaining support that left them during government and wash away the Labour protest vote and vacuums and void that were left. This, after a few years, would see a lot of the smaller parties that gained under Labour then losing their support and seats.

Remember, many people have very short memories!

We could see another 18 years of Conservative rule. That would be interesting.

It would be a nightmare.

Hopefully labour does become more like old labour. It is better than them being the Tories-lite.

Whichever party gets in charge, this country has already gone to the dogs. I get the feeling it might be to late so save it.

I've not given up hope just yet, but I'm getting there.

It might become a party for ethnic minorities, Muslims, and uneducated white trash underclass living on council estates.

You can take tax and spend and socialism in general with you on the way out.

I don't put my faith in politicians to save Britain.

I hope the British people will do that for us - but as things stand, I don't see much changing.

There are some of the smaller parties that I think would be better than the big three, but they are too insignificant at the moment.
