Libertarian Councillor

I've noticed there are a number of people on here from the new Libertarian Party (LPUK). Can I ask, if Gavin Webb is one of yours? It appears he has been kicked out of the Liberal Democrats for his views on drugs, and now describes himself as a libertarian.

Would be a great bit of news for the LPUK to get their first councillor so soon, and in the lead-up to the Henley by-election.

Gavin is still in the Liberal Democrats but they have treated him very badly.

Do you know if the LPUK are encouraging him to defect? Would be a great coup.

They are leaving it up to him but I think they have had some dialogue, yes.

I have had a chat with him myself. He is determined to stop the Socialist Democrats within the Lib Dems at the moment. He knows there is a place with the Libertarian Party, if he fails in his mission.

I believe that there is a self proclaimed Libertarian councillor on Stoke City Council. Check out their website for more details. However, whether he is a member of this new party or independent of it, I have no idea.

Yes Vortex I think that's the one we are talking about. On the Stoke-on-Trent City Council website Webb is described as-

Party: Libertarian

Ward: Stoke and Trent Vale

Stoke-on-line: Councillor details - Councillor Gavin Webb
