Default Lord Patel refuses to meet BNP

The unelected Lord Patel has decided that some elected politicans are acceptable and some are not.

Quite right too.

More people who do not have to mix with BNP should do the same.

So what? Patel decided he didn't want anything to do with the BNP and who can blame him?

It is obvious the BNP would have made a big issue about Patel meeting with them and so tried to gain credibility by such association.

Fortunately Patel had enough sense to see through it and enough good taste not to mix with people who support what the BNP lot do, at least at their “top table”.

Well done, that man.

Amazing though that nobody seemed to care when Ken Livingstone met the leaders of the IRA in London to give them credibility. What a moral minefield we walk

Good. The less NuLabour cretins there are in Stoke, the better.

This result is precisely why the BNP get voted in around here - we want to annoy the NuLabour councillors. This is how the Stokie mindset works.

These people are elected representatives of the public in Stoke and as Patel was attending in an official capacity of course he should have met them.

His personal views on their politics are irrelevant to the duty he owes to the people they represent. Do you expect Labour councillors to refuse to work for people who voted Conservative and vice versa?
