This eventuallity is not being prepared for in some quarters, methinks.
In the medium to long term nothing changes. The corrosion of Liberalism will procede unfalteringly.

How a [strong and assertive] Tory Government will impinge on the anti-EU Movement in the short term is an important question. This is a question I believe UKIP's leaders have decided to stick their heads in the sand over.

One thing does seem certain, to me at any rate. No matter how the Commission huffs and puffs, the Tories will not budge on FPTP. How that will impinge on the electoral aspirations of others' remains to be seen.

Now then.
The list of party options for this Board does not permit me to select Populist Party. So I have stuck in "Other".

However, as others are doing this . . .

There is a possibility that a Tory government will lull society en masse into a false sense of security on the assumption they are patriotic - or more patriotic than Labour - when in reality they could turn out to be less patriotic than Labour. This is similar to 1979 when the Tories under Thatcher conned the electorate into thinking they were patriotic and tough on immigration.

I yhink it will be more like the Heath government.
The BNP will be big winners under the next Tory government.

It will be interesting to see if they have the balls to run with the Lisbon Treaty issue at the Election.
They have been making a lot of noise about a Referendum recently.
The presumption is that *when* it receives the Royal Assent that will be it; and accordingly the Tories will become meek and accept the outcome.

Now if they go into the Election promising to continue with a Referendum - or better still, cancelling the Treaty - then UKIP, if not stone dead after next year's Euros, will be killed off.

Will they?
Can they?

I didn't think they would go for the Inheritance Tax coup.
But they did!

Default Local oligarchs control liverpool

This is an indication of what is going on at the grassroots level. I know this geezer and used to spend a lot of time in Liverpool and never missed a pot of tea in Quiggins restaraunt. I do not entirely agree with his idea of local culture -Goth styles and local rock bands -but admire the work he did . He built Quiggins up from nothing into a world famous alternative shopping complex with Goth shops, antique shops, tarot reader and restaurant which had a bar added for evenings which gave local rock bands somewhere to begin.
But the local oligarchs who run thecity had other ideas and pushed him out. There is a massive new shopping complex where Quiggins was, developed by the Duck of Westminster, which has private security guards. The Council act as agents for these developers and once voted in ignore the local people.

Mr Quiggins lends his support to the British National Party Video

I'm not very forgiving! I was almost tempted to vote for "Matt not 4 London" just for a laugh, but there were better candidates. Actually, UKIP's G. Batten was IMHO the best of all those standing. Mr Barnbrook's undignified appearance in the News of the Screws did not exactly enhance his appeal!
