The United Kingdom is still the United Kingdom without Scotland.

By the way,Salmond will have to pull his kilt up because this weeks figures show that a mere 19% of Scots want independence, but don't fret too much about that because I will do my utmost to see that Scotland goes independent from the rest of us that remain in the United Kingdom.

You must remember that the Scots will always present themselves as a mere minority, which,of course, they are.

If and when Scotland leave the UK, in all respect to Wales and NI, the UK is finished. Wales is a Principality, along with I believe NI, and as both along with Scotland are regions of Europe the UK is in effect allready a done deal. The UK has now all but in name gone already. The only hope is for England to make very early plans to go it alone before, along with the GLC another EU region we are carved up for real. And talk about getting real, UKIP have got to face that issue or fail miserably

Rubbish. The United Kingdom can easily survive without Scotland, and as an English Unionist, I intend to do everything in my power to ensure that it does - should Scotland actually ever cede from the Union.

No Steve, they werent asked, but then neither was I concerning any commitment other than trade in Europe. And even then we were being lied to by that traitor Heath so dont think they will be asked. NI will look at the benefits that SI initially got and will probably be happy to take the plunge for cash as probably Wales will. I know that is two more probables than I would like but I'm a realist not a dreamer. The UK as a nation is finished, like a great old king being poisoned by traitors while the supporters of the king try to support him instead of looking to the successor England my England. Dont waste your time trying to keep the old king alive, look to the future and make strong plans for a troubled future

Strictly that is not true. The United Kingdom was the Union of the Kingdom of England (with her absorbed Principality of Wales) and the Kingdom of Scotland.
Two Kingdoms united as one. If either leave you can't have a union of one.

Hopefully it is England which gains independence.
