Default Racist leaflets slammed Wray nr Lancaster

Leaflets said to be racist have been distributed in Wray, a village near Lancaster:

From the Lancaster Guardian 25th April 2008, page 9:
"Leaflets distributed in Wray suggesting Muslims should apologise for the heroin trade in Britain have been slammed by a Parish Councillor. The leaflet was posted through letterboxes, however locals did not recognise the old man who delivered them. Wray Parish Council chairman Bob Smith said: 'The leaflet is totally racist whether you like it or not.
'It's too easy to say that the trouble we have with drugs is the fault of Muslims, there are people from this country who also make a lot of money from drugs.
'Some people in the village got the leaflets and some didn't, although I don't know why they were delivered here because we don't have a problem with drugs in Wray.
'All I know is that the person who delivered the leaflets definitely wasn't local.'

The leaflet states that it has been produced by the 'Preston Pals' in honour of the 7th Battalion of the North Lancashire Regiment who fought at the Somme during World War One, and held the same name. The Royal British Legion have already come across publications of a similar nature in Preston and have condemned the leaflets and their content.

The leaflet says it is printed by B N Parker for Tony Bamber who stood as a BNP candidate in Preston last year. Mr Bamber could not be contacted as the Guardian went to press. But north west BNP spokesman Roy Goodwin said 'I can categorically state that this leaflet has got nothing to do with the BNP.' "

- It's been suggested locally that this might have something to do with the popular Wray scarecrow festival. I'm wondering if this is a new tactic or simply an extension of techniques already being used...

B N Parker.

Even the BNP aren't that dumb, nor searchlight.

Probably an old bloke who is losing his marbles.
