I keep my copy of Mein Kampf on the bookshelf.
Under the bed is a strange place to put a book.

And before anyone jumps to any conclusions - - you can't specialise in Weimar Germany without having at least read Hitler's book.

What a shocker...a politician who sleeps around, thank goodness we have the shining beacons of morality which are Boris and Ken to guide the way on how to lead stable relationships.

but lets hope he does sue, i cant stand the NOTW so anything that does them harm is good in my books.

Even if he had a good case, which he probably hasn't, he'd be crazy to take on a national newspaper .

No, I think it should be written into the contract of life of every human that it is their civic duty to try and screw Murdock and News Corp once in their life.

I have three or four copies but all except one are stock for selling. My personal copy is the post-war educationally-approved translation. The pre-war English editions were severely edited and were fairly blatant Nazi propaganda.

I don't keep any of them under the bed either. Where would I put my po?

The best known pre-war translation would be the James Murphy Edition.
I understand he was commissioned by the German Government to provide an English translation.

I would not expect, therefore, this to be . . . er . . . hostile.

Having said this; I read somewhere a while back that the German authorities were not ecstatic about the finished result.

Fact is, the original is so badly written, translating into a coherent and lucid narrative is always going to be a major headache for the translator.
