Not the same, that is impossible as we are all different one from another even those of us of the same race and even those of us of the same family.

Just equal in the eyes of the law, as regards opportunities within society, and to be free from facing prejudice and bigotry because of their race or ethnicity and to behave in the same manner towards others.

Britain is not the only state supporting polices favouring the minority.
Such policies exist in the U.S, Sweden, China and many other countries.

In a multi ethnic society that is moving from a nasty racist hate ridden one, to a society that is aiming at being a meritocracy, at least in the workplace and socially, there is a period where some positive discrimination is exactly the right thing to introduce.

Where it goes wrong is when politicians get their grubby hands on it and use it as a tool to win votes amongst minorities, or when it is used not to take away bigotry and prejudice but simply to make up numbers on statistics sheets which are being crudely used to replace true performance monitoring and reporting.

Of course, being a racist hate driven thing that concentrates on negatives, the loathsome BNP could never support such measures at to do so would be to admit their foul principles of racial superiority is flawed, and that would never do.
