Default Has the tide turned for the BNP?

Quote:
BNP deputy leader Simon Derby reports that SKY TV has requested a BNP presence in a programme concerning the concept of Englishness to be broadcast later this month.

The BBC have also been in contact with Simon to say that, due to significant amounts of support for the BNP they have found in a private poll, their broadcasting policy might have to change.
The significance of this may not be apparent initially, but considering the amount of 'bad-press' the BBC have launched in our direction over the years, including their attempt to have Nick Griffin imprisoned for 'inciting racial hatred', over the Muslim gangs issue, this is a major u-turn.

Hopefully, the BNP will use this opportunity to finally put to rest the baggage that has allowed opponents to dredge up the Nazi/racist/anti-semitic buzz words whenever they feel cornered.

But the BNP finally are little more than a racist, even neo-fascist style organisation.

For anyone who doesn't draw their euroskepticism from such roots what do they actually offer?

I wouldn't trust the BBC, you can almost guarantee there is some ulterior motive behind it, maybe build them up to knock them down.

The government know that the BNP are picking up disaffected voters that are voting BNP not because they believe in or know their polices but because there is no alternative so it might be their way of getting them on stage to belittle them.
Just my speculation mind.

One problem is that whenever the loathsome BNP take on an issue, no matter how valid it might be, it is at once tainted by association with the BNP.

Or you know those who don't want to be tainted by far-right politics, neo-fascism and racism.

I really hope there is a change, because the BNP deserves a fair shot at power, just like any other party.

Default BBC seeks the BNP take on England!

The BNP is a British Unionist party and I cannot see why its views on England should hold any interest.

Neither the BNP, nor England in general, can expect any favours from the BBC.
Looks like the BBC will try to discredit both! What a surprise for what is supposed to be a professional and objective news organisation.

My personal belief on this matter is that the BBC have noticed the change in mood of the British public, particularly the 'working-class' white population. They probably had masses of letters etc after the Muslim Gangs documentary was shown, and now have an idea just how great the swing towards the BNP has become. Even if this swing is due to the 'protest vote' being exercised, the BBC will want to appear to be seen to be fair. For if the BNP do make large inroads into the political mainstream, the BBC know they'll be in for a bumpy ride.

I would see this as an attempt by them to 'build bridges'.
