Default "Eurohile Liberal 'Dems' planned coalition pact with pro-EU Cameron-Tories" (claim)

Today's Sunday Telegraph reports that the europhile Liberal 'Democrats' were looking seriously at preparing for a coalition with pro-EU and anti-UKIP David Cameron (in the event of a House of Commons in which no party has an overall majority). The Daily Telegraph reported on 9.2.2008 that committed europhile Clegg, leader of the Liberal Dims, allegedly said that he might back the Conservatives if their policies were "liberal".

Today's Sunday Telegraph report can be read at:

As I've said many times before , politics is all about power! In the case of the Lib Dems , they can't win it, so they'll share it!

Default Cameron-Clegg Government, tens of thousands, UKIP, europhile, Liberal 'Democrats'

If there were to be a Cameron-Clegg Government I think it could lead to up to tens of thousands of Conservative activists joining UKIP. It could even cause the Conservative Party to split.

And such a coalition of the europhiles anti-UKIP David Cameron and Clegg might not last long - I can't see members of the europhile Liberal 'Democrats' (who hate Conservatives) tolerating it for very long at all.

Ken Clarke advocated such a pact about a year ago.

Default 'Ken' Clarke, Cameron-Clegg, activists, UKIP

Yes, I remember reading something about the europhile 'Conservative' 'Ken' Clarke saying something about this: as I say if there were to be a Cameron-Clegg coalition/pact it could result in thousands of key Conservative activists switching to UKIP.
