Not sure whether UKIP has it or not, but I am guessing Family membership for the BNP is classed as 1 member when it can include 2+ people. However still well above the 4000 figure that some UKIPers keep posting in wishful thinking.

When do the bnp post their 2007 membership numbers.they did say 20,000,I remember?

The bnp made the statement,UKIP/others didn't, they just noted what they said and asked them to prove the 20,000 figure.

So,where is the proof then that they quoted 20,000 members from?

THEY said? Must have been an echo somewhere...

The number cited was explained, as all who read it know, but for some reason you don't seem to be aware of it. Perhaps you should go and read the posts again.

" Nigel Farage on his blog and the UKIP website have brought to our attention a rather alarming situation that our colleagues in Portugal are about to find themselves in. The PND [Partido da Nova Democracia] under Manuel Montiero have some similar aims to ours, especially to regain control of their fishing and to oppose the constitution. However a new law comes into force in Portugal in March 2008 that states political parties must have 5000 registered members or they will be declared illegal. Additionally, the names and addresses of the members must be given to the Portuguese authorities. This will mean that ten of Portugal’s fourteen political parties will disappear and the PND is one of them. This intolerance to opposition means that new parties would never be created, existing ones become more powerful and they alone would control party funding.
This situation is caused by Article 191 of the Nice Treaty, regarding party funding. If it can happen in Portugal, it can happen here. A good reason to increase our membership as fast as possible. Although I hesitate to compare it, it does bring to mind the identification of Jews in Nazi Germany in the 1930s. UKIP is currently safe from extinction on these grounds as we have more than three times that many members. "

When everyone else does when the EC ask for the accounts.

Someone was mistaken on thinking their membership number reflected member count, however that was clearly explained later on by myself and someone else. We are saying BNP membership is at the 10,000 area.

You guys need to get your stories straight before you come on here, you look silly constantly contradicting each other.

NF will have the membership number of his party in his brain,if he said 20,000 members most would believe him,the bnp on the other hand.........not to be trusted at all because of past performance history files.

We will know if they lie for sure by August as BNP leader Nick Griffin stated the BNP membership passed 9000 last summer.

Default More interesting than UKIP?

They certainly attract more attention than UKIP. News of Nick Griffin's visit to Hastings has been met with unprecedented public response.

Since last Friday, when we revealed the controversial politician was coming to Hollington, the number of visitors to our website (Hastings Today: News, Sport, Jobs, Property, Cars, Entertainments & More) has gone through the roof.
In the last week the top six most read stories on our site have all been about the British National Party with the number one story receiving more than 5,500 hits - five times more than the top story would normally get.
Our online poll, Is Nick Griffin welcome in Hastings?, attracted more than 8,000 votes and the eight stories we have had online covering the subject have had 196 reader comments left on them.

The media realise that if they run a BNP story it will attract substantial web hits for their Newspaper.
