Could be worse... now we have all this "Culture" lark round tyneside, a load of big southern poofs all comin up to see some "art", then they all look at you funny, moan about the scratty bits still around, and make snide comments about us northerners.

Whatever happened to the hard arsed geordie who kicks you in if you look at him wrong... (although to be fair, you can still find them if you go to the right, or possibly wrong parts of Newcastle)


And I spend a lot of time up in Northumberland as well, so belive me, I know what you mean about hunting, and lack of respect for the country, leaving gates open, leaving litter in the hils and around Hadriends Wall etc!!

I would have thought that you northern lads and lassies would be whooping with joy had you read an article on the front page of the DT on Thursday. The headline was "two Newcastles, one £2.7m mix-up". The second paragraph referred to Newcastle upon Tyne as the "regional capital" of the "North East" (sic).
Now I didn't get invited to vote on regional government (being a southerner) but I thought that you lot had rejected it by quite a substantial margin. I am wrong, obviously.
When did London get removed as the capital of the whole of England?.
