At a time when the West is locked in a life or death struggle against Islamic extremism, Rowan Williams has leant material support and encouragement to our enemies.
He should certainly resign or be sacked. It is exceedingly difficult to take the Church of England seriously, so long as it tolerates such a leader. I think that his attitude has strengthened anti-Islamic feeling in Britain.

I was undecided about the disestablishment of the Church of England. This cretin has managed to sway me in favour of it. The idea that people like him have a say in the House of Lords makes me cringe.
Reports say he is shocked at the effect his speech has caused. If he and his ilk were to be more in touch with the British population he'd know what the true feelings of the nation are. |

If anyone wants to read the actual speech it is here:
The Archbishop of Canterbury - Archbishop's Lecture - Civil and Religious Law in England: a Religious Perspective I haven't read it all yet - it is long and not always easy to understand - but IMHO worth the effort Also there is a transcript of the BBC interview: The Archbishop of Canterbury - BBC Interview - Radio 4 World at One |

This just shows that the state and religion should be completely seperate and that all laws should be made from a secular basis
