Eurosceptic Conservative MP David Heathcoat-Amery told Prime Minister Gordon Brown at Prime Minister's Question Time at 12.19 pm today "The Prime Minister made a new promise to this House that we would be able to scrutinise at committee line-by-line the text of the EU 'Amending' Treaty - yet not one single line on immigration nor anything else has been debated at committee line-by-line. Is the Prime Minister's word worth anything?"
Gordon Brown - avoiding answering the actual question put to him - replied "We are considering the EU Treaty Bill every day in this House - and may I remind the The Hon. Gentleman that he was a member of the Cabinet which denied the British people a referendum on the EU Maastricht Treaty." |

Gordon was at least right that time! When will EU sceptic people stop referring to "EU sceptic Tories"? There are NONE! If there were , they'd be men and women of principle who would leave their cushy part time jobs at Westminster and throw their weight behind the EU sceptic cause of saving Britain's Sovereignty!

I watched some of the Commons debate on the Lisbon Treaty live last evening on BBC Parliament. The Labour Party totally don't give a damn about lies and deception around this whole matter.
(Neither do the Conservative Party generally, but their speakers in this debate, like Heathcote-Amery or Cash, were the goodies.) |

There is an argument that fighting the anti-EU cause (albeit it under the radar), within one of the establishment parties, has more chance of success than outside.
Ron Paul has tried this approach (anti NAU/NWO), but looks like he is going to be the start, rather than the end of the solution doing that. The trouble is, how do we anti-EU people tell who are the good ones? BOO members are the only ones I can trust, but then they have stopped themselves getting into any kind of position of influence. So there is an argument that the Davis, Fox etc of this world are doing the right thing. I hope I am wrong and they are, but for now while they say they are going off to attack the enemy down the left flank, I am going to choose the right.
