Default Waffler of the day

From (Home Secretary) Jacqui Smith's interview on (the BBC Radio Four) Today (programme) about 42 days detention:

"It won’t be hypothetical if and when it occurs. We are not legislating now on
the basis that we are bringing it in now for something that might happen in the future; we are bringing it in now for something that might happen in the future; we are bringing in a position for if it becomes unhypothetical. If,
unfortunately I and many other experts are right and we do need it in the future it is in place."

She sees herself as an 'expert'.

Shows how much contempt she has for the general public. The sooner we get rid of this lot the better.

Obviously she was given the job for reasons other than her ability to speak clear and understandable English.

I was listening to the interview. It would seem that Kebab meat is NOT brain food.

She is dire!

She wants to bring in legislation on the basis of a nod and a wink. You know: it does really mean what says and, besides, we're never going to use!

There is increasing evidence that these conceited people are actually a bunch of incompetents!

Just look at the way the FO fouled up recently by invoking the Official Secrets Acts to prosecute a case which collapsed in court. All they had to do was use internal disciplinary procedures and dismiss the employee but, oh no, they had to be unduly nasty and attempt to bring the 'full weight of the law' down on him and make themselves look incompetently stupid.

Now they'll have greater difficulty getting rid of him and have to pay him compo for unfair dismissal!

I agree. She represents the potentially marginal seat of Redditch (a new town in Worcestershire just south of Birmingham) - one that it is perfectly possible for the Conservatives to win.

Honestly she's a steaming pile of incompetence.

How she has just walked into that job is amazing, only by being a Brownite has she managed it.

She must be one of the most out-of-touch people in government, and has never had real experience and life outside of Westminster - and that's saying something with this lot.

Just further proof that they are not up for the job of running a country.
