Default Carol Thatcher criticises EU and calls for referendum on EU 'Amending Treaty'

Carol Thatcher, daughter of the former eurosceptic Conservative Prime Minister, has called for a referendum to be held on the EU 'Amending Treaty' agreed by Blair in Brussels in June 2007. Speaking on Alan Titchmarsh's afternoon programme on ITV 1 Television at 3.24 pm on 12.9.2007, Carol pointed out "We are Great Britain - not a small province of the EU." She added "I want a referendum on the EU 'Amending Treaty' which is just the original EU Constitution warmed up."

Asked by programme presenter Alan Titchmarsh about the decision of the EU (announced on 11.9.2007) not to pursue its campaign to get the UK to abandon Imperial measurements, Carol said "It is so wonderful that Brussels (the EU) has caved in."

Carol also commented about the plan of the EU to take references to The Queen out of the text in British passports. She complained "Taking The Queen off - it is just not on." Holding up her passort Carol said "We've been downgraded with our original hardback passports being replaced by these flimsy burgundy euro whatsits."

Alan Titchmarsh agreed with Carol Thatcher. "I want The Queen on our passports - we do rise up over things that matter like having The Queen on our passports" he made clear. Europhile Laurie Turner, another guest on the programme, said "I am half-Welsh - I couldn't care less if Daffy Duck is on our passports - the world won't end if The Queen is not on our passports."

To loud applause from the studio audience Carol Thatcher stated "I don't want to pick up the tab for other people's hospitals, roads and railways (i.e. UK money given to the EU paying for infrastructure in other EU nations)." Carol also said "I object to the EU having power over foreign policy."

"Do we have to harmonise on everything (with the EU)?" asked Alan Titchmarsh. He added "They say the food is better over there (on the european continent) but food on sale in our country on farmers' markets is better than continental food - we are good at making good food."

Turner snapped "What we are good at is whinging and moaning about the EU." She insisted "We are part of europe - half the stuff in our lives is made abroad and all our money as a nation is built on foreign labour used in building the Empire."

Turner then made another silly europhile claim "We won't be able to have holiday homes in EU nations if we quit the EU." She then went on to make the preposterous remark "We can't stand alone - we have to be in the EU."

Presenter Alan Titchmarsh replied "Switzerland stands alone outside the EU and is the richest country in europe."

* The Daily Telegraph reported last week that television presenter Cilla Black has backed the campaign for a referendum on the EU 'Amending Treaty' (i.e. EU Constitution version 2).

Dissent expressed against the EU on popular TV is just what we want.

Default Carol Thatcher's criticisms of the EU, referendum, EU Constitution version 2

I agree. Carol Thatcher's criticisms of the EU and her call for a referendum on the EU Constitution version 2 were clearly supported by the studio audience.

Default Carol, UKIP, last EU Election, Prime Minister, europhile impostors, Conservative

I'm sure there's a reasonable chance Carol voted UKIP at the last EU Election. I remember that, after the disgraceful way europhile impostors in the Conservative Party deposed her increasingly eurosceptic Mother as Prime Minister in 1990, she allegedly said "I will never vote Conservative again."

'Turner then made another silly europhile claim "We won't be able to have holiday homes in EU nations if we quit the EU." She then went on to make the preposterous remark "We can't stand alone - we have to be in the EU."

Her first statement shows beyond all reasonable doubt the Europhiles are scraping the barrel for the least intelligent 'celeb' they can put on TV.

Her second statement is part of the well worn mantra trotted out by those who would deny us the chance to preserve what we have. I am very proud of Britain's Heritage,Culture and History, so why does'nt this dozy bint Turner put forward a coherrent and cohesive argument for Britain to be "In the EU" ?

Carol Thatcher is the true heir to Thatcherism.

Very few europhiles are now prepared to go on television to say how wonderful think the EU is, I notice. Most of them have retreated to the background and are keeping quiet for the moment waiting patiently to revive their discredited 'project' to turn the UK into an EU-controlled statelet.

Indeed, if we think about those who played a leading role in deposing mrs Thatcher by four of the main players.

Lord Howe- with the most devastating reisignation speach possibly ever heard

Helesltine

Clarke- who said he would resign is she continued.

Patten- Later to become and EU commisoner

All four are firmly in favour of EMU, Howe in his resignation speach savaged her for saying she would veto any attmept at EMU

None of them spoke for the grassroots of the party, our MP at the time Julian Critchley was in favour of EMU and a great mate of Heseltine's played a big role in his campain.
