The UK's influential permanent seat on the United Nations security council should be given to the EU, a Labour Government Foreign Office minister has allegedly said

That's his promotion now pencilled in then!
Didn't he previously work for the UN? i wonder if somebody feels like looking up pension entitlements etc to see if there is any reason his loyalties might lie elsewhere.

Jesus, they are so brazen about it now.
And yet the people of Britain and the rest of Europe slumber on. No wonder this continent finds itself in massive wars. It's people are so docile, so stupid.

What is the point in Britain having a seat at the UN anyway seeing as we always go along with whatever the US is doing? There is no point in having national sovereignty in the vitally important area of foreign affairs and defence if you hardly ever exercise it. Let's face some facts here, the reason the Tories and the The Scum (supporters of Brown and Bliar's Labour Party) are so uptight about the Reform Treaty's proposals in this area is because they want Britain to be permanently beholden to the USA. Personally, I would want to exercise some British independence in this area and that means occasionaly voting AGAINST the USA in the UN.

The argument that a single EU voice would give the UK a bigger voice is nonsense. If all EU countires had independent seats then we could vote the same way when we felt it was right, but have the freedom to vote a different way if we did not feel it was right. A small independent voice is worth far more than a stronger, diluted, and potentially unrepresentative voice.

Oh no, I'm not advocating we give-up our seat, far from it. I want us to retain it. What I am saying is that occasionaly it might be a good idea to take our own independent line in this vital area of government and not do as we normally do which is find-out what America's position is on anything and then copy it.

The UN is a joke anyway. Waste of space.

They're not giving anything up - including all that money they (the French) suck out of the UK via the EU Common Agricultural Policy.
Europhiles seem to be deliberately targeting the UK permanent seat on the UN Security Council (and not the French one so much or at all). Further evidence of the anti-British nature of those working in/supporting the EU. |
