Default Replacement for George Jones at Telegraph named (claim)

Andrew Porter (34) will take over from George Jones in October as political editor of the Daily Telegraph (Conservative Home today claims).

He is The Sun's Deputy Political Editor, and previously was the Deputy Political Editor of The Sunday Times, Telegraph Editor Will Lewis' former paper.

Traditional Tory wrote on the Conservative Home website at 6.34 pm on 2.7.2007 (in response to the coment “It can only mean worsening relations between Camp Cameron and the paper"):

“Let's hope so. It's great to see Heffer*, Jeff Randall* and Janet Daley blazing away at the now-trailing party leadership but it's time we saw the Telegraph really storming ahead on behalf of the silent majority against the gang who have hi-jacked our party and doomed it to disaster. These days Team Cameron can muster few respected journalists in support of their tatty stunt display.”

* Mr. Simon Heffer is strongly eurosceptic and backed Nigel Farage MEP, who was UKIP candidate, at last Summer's Bromley-Chislehurst Parliamentary By-Election. Mr. Jeff Randall, also eurosceptic, is no fan of David Cameron (the Conservative leader) - last year he dubbed him "David Camera-on".

Given how eurosceptic the torygraph is the way they have supported boy dave is maddening perhaps now we'll see some thoughtful articles about UKIP and it's aims
