Gordon Brown in sacking shock

ITV 1 Teletext (analogue page 303) says that Blair made "detailed preparations for sacking Gordon Brown in the run-up to the last General Election."

According to ITV, a leaked Cabinet Office plan allegedly shows how Gordon Brown would have been "moved to a lesser portfolio with his former department broken up".

The report on Teletext says that "it threatends to undermine a stable and orderly transition" when Mr. Brown takes over from Blair as Prime Minister next Wednesday.

Blair is expected to tender his resignation with The Queen after his final Question Time in the House of Commons on 27.6.2007.
