No sympathy at all - stiif upper lip and all that.
She was born/married into the job.

Mind you I am biased due the way she handled (or not) my Petition to the Head of State in April. Her Secretary would not confirm receipt or subsequent copies posted. Had to send it eventually recorded to prove delivery.

Whilst Mr Salmond may not be a nice man, you must admit he is using the democratic process.

I remember The Queen had to meet (in the early 90's) the awful Australian anti-Monarchist Prime Minister Paul Keating (described by the Sun as 'The Lizard of Oz') more than once (at Balmoral and in Australia).

She's still there - and he (thank goodness) is long since gone (from politics).

Indeed he was a ghastly man and Australia is all the better for seeing the back of him, i should think we all remmebr the lizard putting his arm around her on a royal trip to Australia. he told her straight Australia would be a republic and she was finished as Head of State, allegedly she looked at him and said 'really/' and of course she was proved right.

Default The Queen, Australia, republicans

Yes, I think millions of decent Australians were appalled that he put his hand around The Queen's waist.

A horrible man.

And I was very pleased when his republican mob lost the referendum and Australia rightly voted to keep The Queen as Head of State.

I think I will excuse her if her stiff upper lip quivers a bit when she meets a man detirmned to break up her Kingdom. I dont say for a minute she should not meet him just a shame she has too, I suspect it will not be long before the IRA Godfather Martin Macguiness gets an invite for tea as well.

Just so you know, I thought I would make it clear that Salmond does not wish to break up the kingdom. He wishes to dissolve the treaty of union. The kingdom existed and exists as a separate entity. Remember, it was created before the union was created with James VI becoming king of all of Britain.

With all these posts defending the SNP I may be beginning to sound that I am a supporter! However, I keep seeing things that aren't really true in many posts about them. After living through a month long lively election campaign I have seen what each of the parties had to offer and I have certainly seen lies, smears and fears from all parties about all others.

The disolving of the Treaty Of Union breaks up the UK you can dress it up however you like. Salmond fortauntely has no mandate to do this and owes his current position to unionist abstaintions.

Default Salmond

He has been given the opportunity (by being allowed to take the job of First Minister in a minority administration) to make a fool of himself.

Most people can see this - except, it seems, for Salmond.
