Default scotnats

Salmond was intereviewed on Channel 4 last night , what a smarmy person. He didnt answer Jon Snow's questions and clearly thought that Independence for Scotland was an issue that concerned only the Scots and noone else within the UK should be allowed to comment.
If I were a Scot I would be very worried to have this pompous oaf as my leader.

He is only in position because unionist MSPS abstained in the vote for first minister, I hope he keeps displaying this sort of arrogance as with any lick it will help make his stay mercuifully swift.

Default Scottish Parliament, Scottish First Minister

Yes I'd like to see him booted out of office, too.

I can only assume the other parties in the Scottish Parliament have let him become Scottish First Minister so, metaphorically speaking, they "give him enough rope..."

Unfortunately, if the SNP lost minority control of the Scottish Executive (as one hopes they will), one would end up with having the Labour man back (the one who was First Minister before Salmond).

And he doesn't strike me as being a nice man either.

If Salmond watches a recording of the above-named programme and comes to the view that he didn't do well - he can take consolation from the fact that few people will have seen it anyway. Most of the nation was watching Liverpool play AC Milan (European League Champions Final) on ITV 1.

Jack McConnell was just as bad...

The other parties abstained because it is what they have always done. Remember, in Scotland the independence issue is not all that important and with a minority SNP government it will never happen.

The fact that the SNP shared many policies with the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats is probably one of the main reasons for the abstention.

Default Salmond, McConnell, Scottish Parliament, UK

He can't be as bad as Salmond - Salmond is committed to breaking up the UK. McConnell (First Minister up until the elections earlier this month to the Scottish Parliament) is not.

McConnell is bad - no doubt about that. But Salmond is even worse politically.

Neither of them, incidentally, strike me as being pleasant.
