This is good for UKIP, but UKIP should beware of being seen as believing that more grammar schools will solve all secondary school problems.

There needs to be a diversity of schools, including 'grammar schools' - ideally with a voucher system that can be used in the public and private sectors. We certainly don't want the divisive and self-fulfilling prophecy aspect of the old grammar versus secondary modern system.

Precisely eublues.

UKIP has adopted a policy of education vouchers, which i think is excellent. We need to say that, yes, we support Grammar Schools, but we see competition of a vareity of educational establishments as the way forward.

This will provide education which is more tailored to the needs of different children and allow the market to show what works and what doesn't, rather than having our future dictated by government.
