Don't be disingenous, it is only an estimate:
Quote:
The £15,000 estimated cost of the Barbados trip is based on an £8,000 first- class return ticket for Mr Prescott, economy class tickets for three aides and a five-star hotel.
They could save a lot of money by making it one way and then nailing him to the bottom of a coral reef.

Default Prescott

They could save even more money by not letting him go at all.

Make him do some work - if he knows what that is.

Pies are cheaper there, so I expect a net saving to the taxpayer.

Default Prescott, EU 'regionalisation, Assembly, Prof. David Starkey

I'm glad he is on his way out as regards 'frontline' politics.

Prescott has been a committed europhile since the early 1970's (if not before) - having sat in the European Assembly in that decade (before it started calling itself a 'Parliament') and he has been totally committed, indeeed obsessed, with trying to get the EU 'regionalisation' (i.e. break-up England) policy implemented in the UK (which would have led to the end of the 1000 year-old English county shires).

Thankfully, his proposals (for an elected 'regional' assembly) were rejected by the people of the north-east of England in the 2004 referendum. I don't believe that he recovered from that huge electoral defeat.

He leaves 'frontline' politics having failed to get through his most cherished objectives - the euro and EU 'regionalisation'.

What an awful man he is. And I don't just mean his political views.

I shall never forget the eurosceptic Professor and historian David Starkey describing Prescott as "the House of Commons Court Jester."

Now if you had said that Prezza was 'vile' and an 'enemy of our country' I would have agreed entirely with you.

Default Prescott, hitting man, 2001 General Election campaign

"Awful" is not the actual word I would have liked to use regarding the unpleasant Prescott.

One thing that still annoys me is the way Prescott was almost 'excused' for punching that man during the 2001 General Election campaign. Had that been a Conservative minister who had done such a thing the media would have ensured that we never heard the end of it. However, Prescott's aggression was regarded by some to be almost amusing.

I never found it funny. Those pictures of Prescott hitting that man were shown around the world and did this country's world image no favours.

It was admired by many, showed him to be a real man.
He then went on to confirm that belief by cheating on his wife.
