Default 'Lie-bour Government to shut another 2500 post offices'

The discredited Lie-bour Government is to shut down another 2500 post officers - one in five of all post offices open at the moment.

Further evidencee that Labour - the party which won't give the English their own Parliament - is no friend of the traditional English village.

Many small English villages now risk losing their post offices - often the only place left in the village where local residents can meet and have a chat.

As most readers know, post office closures are being carried out by the Lie-bour Government because of financial pressure on postal services as a result of EU Directives which have forced the industry up to competition. Overseas companies are interested in operating only in profitable areas - avoiding loss-making sectors. This is leading to cuts in services and post office closures.

This report is in today's Times:

Default Telegraph man criticises Labour's post office closures

Andrew Pierce, assistant deputy editor of the Daily Telegraph, said at 7.22 am on Nick Ferrari's programme on London's LBC FM radio today:

"They (Labour) have destroyed the post office. They have cruely deceived users of the Post Office by moving various services from the post office such as television licences and other things. This then reduces the number of people using the post office branch and then the Government announces the branch is uneconomical and must close. This Government talks about the community - but it is taking away the one thing that keeps the community together in many places, the local post office."

I know a lot has been made regarding these outlets not being economically viable, but I would point out that they perform a vital service for some of the most vunerable people in our society.

I am devastated to learn of these closure, there used to be a concept of serving the genrel public in this country, it appears it has now gone.

Everything does not have to be about profit.

Default Labour,k Post Office closures

I wouldn't be surprised to find that a large majority of the planned post office closures are in constituencies not held by Labour MPs.

Well, it was one of my themes in my election campaign and now my village is going to lose its post office.

Maybe people will start remembering who flagged all this **** up to them, before the media then tells them minus the real reasons.

Or they may just be looking forward to the next episode of Eastenders.

Default EU, Labour, post office closures

We've lost one post office branch around here - and two more have been moved. The local 'paper said last week that another one is going to be shut.

The press are not saying that the EU is ultimately to blame for all of this (as well as Labour who are keen to destroy traditions like the village post office).

Sadly the latter may end up being true, whatever peoples political leanings they should all be concernedabout the level of apathy in this country.
