Wrong. Under the current legal system, the police spend the greatest amount of time and effort cracking down on drug users and small time dealers. The drug barons who are at the top of the supply chain are almost above the law.

Sod the street dealers and cut off the supply by arresting the drug barons.

No, you're wrong. Target them both. I'm more than happy for 'end users' to go to prison, why? They've broken the law, do the crime....

Sure, target 'barons', but It's also right that we target street dealers. After all SOCA will go after the 'barons', so normal plod can target street dealers.

Taking illegal drugs is a crime which should be punished with imprisonment, one other problem though is of course our prisons are not drug free, no the whole concept of prison being about punishment and rehabilitation falls down.

It's exactly the same argument as with alcohol prohibition in the US - caused more problems than it solved.

Legalise and licence all drugs. They must be consumed on the premises it would solve a lot of problems and give the Treasury some tax income

I am sorry but I have seen too many good lives ruined by the evil that are drugs to ever agree with that.

Prescisely. Drugs are far too harmful to ever be sanctioned by the State. It hardly sends out a moral, respectable message does it?

"Here kids, take drugs because the PM says it ok".
