The government should:
1) Repeal the 1972 Accession Treaty 2) Propose to the Parliament, and the Parliament should vote for, an embargo against Russia 3) Sign FTAs with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Libya, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan 4) License nuclear reactors, so that the Americans build 40 new nuclear reactors that will be operated until 2070 5) Ban TEPs - coal-fired ones should be allowed to be operated until 2010, and until then they should be powered with peat; gas-fired ones should be operated until 2010, and until then should be powered oil; oil-fired ones should be operated until 2039 6) Ban wind-powered electric plants, which are unreliable 7) Ask the Chinese, the Koreans and the Pakistanis to decommission their nukes 8) Sign an FTA with China, the EU and the CDR 9) Allow fossil-fuel-powered vehicles until 2054 My goals are: 1) To protecting the environment 2) To minimise the demand for oil and gas 3) To make our nation energetically independent 4) To secure gas supplies 5) To increase the number of NEPs |

I defiantly wouldn't embargo Russia either its up to them who they sell their gas to. Russia is all so a potential ally against the EU and USA. I would stop buying electricity from France too. British Coal should be re-started and we should increase our Coal Power stations with clean coal technology and pump the Carbon under the North Sea into the old Oil Wells. (Norway is now doing this i believe). I would Nationalise North Sea Oil and Gas too. Russia is currently Nationalising all its oil and gas reserves. |

If you pump CO2 under the bottom of the North Sea, it will vapourise up. TEPs should be banned.
And NEPs are more efficient than TEPs. One TEP burns 200 tons of coal every hour. One ton of coal costs 70 USD, so the cost is: Per hour...Per day...Per week...Per month...Per year $14,000...$336000...$2352000...$9408000...$1129860 00 |
