That's true - and 75% of those only did so to try to keep the Conservatives out in their constituency.
And most of the other 25% only did so because they live in areas where no other party bothered, or had the volunteers/resources, to canvass them.
Without people voting Labour for purely tactical reasons (to keep out one other party) the Labour vote nationally would start to disintegrate :twisted: :P .
In the Irish Republic, where there is proportional voting in national elections, the once mighty Irish Labour Party has been pushed towards the fringe and is much smaller than it once was. I am not calling for proportional voting here - but I use the Irish example to show what happens when people feel that they no longer have to vote Labour tactically.
