Is Veritas still going? Both websites seem to be down.

Default Veritas part-time mini-party

No.

All Veritas and other similar part-time mini-parties like it do is suck votes away from proper anti-EU parties such as UKIP.

As far as I can tell, Veritas is just a website (when it's working) and half a dozen people calling themselves an NEC who meet two or three times a year.

They should shut down and join (or re-join) UKIP (or switch to the English Democrats).

Default Another Veritas re-launch possibly on the way

Perhaps they're updating their website for another party re-launch.

I said a couple of years ago that they'll never get anywhere with a name like Veritas. And I stand by that view.

>> proper anti-EU parties <<

How does one recognise one of those?

How "anti" is "anti"?

NF talks about "an amicable divorce".
Nothing as bold as "removing the EU from the scene".

In fifteen years has UKIP inflicted so much as a pinprick on the EU?
Let alone a flesh wound?

I agree that the EU must be removed from the scene. I don't just want us (the UK) out of it. I want the EU terminated.

As for UKIP and the EU. UKIP has won seats in the EU 'Parliament' - thus denying europhiles the chance to represent those seats in Brussels.

Pressure from UKIP - through its electoral rise in the last EU Election - forced the discredited Blair regime to tread very carefully regarding the hugely unpopular EU Constitution.

The presence of UKIP candidates at General Elections has also stopped certain europhiles from winning parliamentary constituencies (by denying them vital votes they needed to secure their election).

UKIP is also able - by having ten MEPs in Brussels - to gain access to information about the EU and to have a strong influence in the Independence and Democracy Group in the EU so-called 'Parliament'.

So it's just a memory, then? I can put it in my list of "British Political Parties (defunct)" - OK?

Thank you for your detailed response.

"Terminated"; "Wiped off the Map".
We agree on that Basic.
I am not sure that with UKIP what you want is what you'll get.

Yes, as you say, UKIP has done all of those things above.

Default Threat to UK of a military EU

The EU needs to be destroyed and dumped into the dustbin of history where many others have gone before it - the League of Nations, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Comecon, Soviet Union (USSR), Warsaw Pact, Yugoslavia, German Democratic Republic, Czechoslovakia, United Arab Republic etc.

Even when the UK leaves the EU (unless it collapses first), the EU will remain a threat. It is building up its own military wing which means that a nuclear armed EU (which the anti-English French seek to dominate) - and one which is hostile to the UK - will exist just 21 miles across the English Channel. Potentially a far bigger threat than the USSR ever was.

Our aim must be to finish of the EU in order to maintain peace and stability in our part of the world.
