We make a point of not buying local free range eggs 'cos they would all be full of **** and toxics.

I buy my eggs from a friend who keeps silkies amongst others. She buys them french bread and vegetables, and talks to them like children. They have been off lay for about 4 weeks now, but she's been threatening them with the stew pot if they don't pull their socks up. She reckons they will start laying again in another week or so.

Our local shop sells eggs from a farm just outside the village. They are always good. I never buy eggs from the supermarkets.

What an amusing posting 8) . There was a programme on BBC 4 Television a month or so ago about people in America who keep chickens as pets. One lady even took her bird out shopping to the local supermarket. The chicken was in a bag over her shoulder and just poked its head out of one side of the bag as her owner went up and down each aisle in the shop 8) . None of the other shoppers appeared to notice the bird .

Hi Everybody,
I used to work on a poultry farm. The conditions in which the chickens and turkeys were kept were hellish and the treatment they received was barbaric.
John Carter is indeed correct in saying that the practise of selling battery caged eggs as free range eggs is common, because the farm where I worked did it !!!!!
To Aardvark......Will you confirm that the practises you describe are correct, please.
Needless to say I am now a vegetarian.

Why the f*** would we need to import eggs anyway?

I saw the other day that we export the same amount of potatos to South Africa as they export back to us. That has to be utter lunacy.
What, no chickens in Britain then???
Surley imported eggs must cost more
than home produced....
I'm just hoping that the spuds imported and
exported are different varieties that can't be
grown in the relative countries, otherwise, Why?????????
