A UKIP friend of mine who is largely English - but partly Scottish -complained to me in the Summer that one house in his village (occupied by English people) was (during England's participation in the World Football Cup) flying the Union Flag (Union Jack) whent it should (the UKIP member insisted) be flying the flag of England like many other houses.
Most flag shops in Scotland no longer sell the Union Jack (the flag of the UK) due to "lack of demand". Don't get me wrong - as a flag it (the British flag) has a fantastic design recognised the world over (and it looks great on the flags of Australia, New Zealand and other nations under The Crown). But, it appears that most of the Scottish (at least many of those in Scotland) don't want to use it anymore. Could it be that the Union Jack (the UK flag) is heading for the museum like the flags of the now defunct Soviet Union (USSR), Yugoslavia, 'East' Germany and Czechoslovakia (and - sooner rather than later - the revolting flag of the EU)? |

No, I love to visit Scotland, and speak to Scottish people.
in Scotland What I don't like is after breaking up the United Kingdom getting their own parliament for Scotland, plus many many benefits paid for by the English Tax payer (even though their Parliament has tax raising powers - never used) Is that they still want to come down to Westminster and "Rule" the English That's what ****** me off !

It is a devolved Parliament which means it isn't totally sovereign. Scots MPs are fully entitled to vote on some matters which affect all of us such as defence and foreign affairs for example. Devolution has been handled very badly however.

Why are you so keen on breaking-up the United Kingdom? An English version of the SNP doesn't make the SNP's policies right. Two wrongs don't make a right. You should be helping UKIP or any other Unionist party fight against the SNP's ludicrous arguments and not giving them any encouragement. |

Just run past me the reason for preserving the Union in it's current state ?
Our (English Democrats) aims are ONLY connected with the interests of England. If your main aim is to exit the EUssr, then surely getting 85% of the UK population out is better then nothing ?
