Default Poll puts pro-EU Liberal Dims down 7% on Gen. Election vote

The europhile Liberal ‘Democrats’ have fallen 2% to 16% in an opinion poll to be published by the Daily Telegraph today (27.10.2006). The YouGov poll puts support for the parties at Conseravative 39% (up 1%), Labour 32% (up 1%) and the Liberal Dims 16% (down 2%).

The Liberal Dims are 7% down on their actual share of the vote at the May 2005 General Election. The vote for the Liberal Dims could be squeezed even more if Labour recovers electorally at their expense    .

YouGov said that people preferred David Cameron (the pro-EU and anti-UKIP Conservative leader) to Gordon Brown by a rating of 46% to 33% (when the question was asked who people liked more if Gordon Brown were to lead the Labour Party into the next General Election).

Source of polling figures quotes above: Conservative Home (Cameron-Brown poll question also quoted by Andrew Neil on BBC 1 Television's 'This Week' at 12.10 am this morning).

The Lib Dems seem to have disapeared off the radar of late.

I'm not even getting my focus any more. They must be having money problems.

Default Not enough to win says Telegraph man

George Jones, Political editor of the Daily Telegraph, said on BBC News 24 Television at 0030 hours on 27.10.2006 “The Conservatives are ahead for the 6th consecutive month (in the opinion polls). This is the first time that this has happened in over a decade. But the Conservatives are not yet at the point (in their level of support according to the opinion polls) where we can say they will win the next General Election.”

Funny enough, I got a Focus through my door today.

Most bland drivel I have ever read.
