Devolution for England - The way forward

The case for the National Self Government of Scotland and Wales has been established and enacted. In the interests of democracy and of justice the same principle should be applied to England.

The purpose of the English Constitution Convention is to promote the debating and the making of proposals for a just and fair constitutional settlement for all the people of England.

It's bad starting a piece off with a lie. The EU still controls both Scotland and Wales.

Precisely. How can you devolve power when the Parliament you are devolving those powers from ie Westminster hardly has any in the first place? The Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly are contricks and so will an English Parliament be if Britain as a whole doesn't get out of the EU where all the real power is. :roll: :twisted:

Obviously we must keep those nasty Scots and Welsh at bay! However, will there be presentations by the muslim Community of England, after all they live within the geographical boundary of England and of course that's all that matters isn't it? :roll:

Precisely. English 'nationalism' (not a true nationalism anyway) is divisive and so are the Welsh and Scottish versions of this disturbing trend. The EU must be loving it! :twisted:

You'll have to explain to me sometime how an English parliament full of the same traitors who keep us in the EU now, would take us out then.

It won't! :roll: The trouble is that the EDP, which has some excellent policies, is going in two directions at once. An English Parliament does not necessarily beget an exit from the EU and leaving the EU does not necessarily beget an English Parliament. The two issues have different constituencies, although some may agree with both issues!
