Default Membership figures

Just out of interest does any one know the approximate membership figures for the political parties (Lab/Con/Lib, Ukip, bnp, eng demo, greens etc)?

Thanks.

The membership figures are Labour 188, 000 (as leaked from a recent meeting of the Labour Party National Executive - Labour had 408, 000 members when Blair got in back in 1997), Conservatives 247, 000 (as quoted when the results were given in the party's recent 'Built to Last' referendum), Liberal 'Democrats' 76, 000 (and probably much less - was 100, 000 only a few years ago), UKIP 12, 000 (not confirmed), British National Party 9000 (might be less; could be more), English Democrats 1000 (approximately).

I don't know how many members the Greens have - but I know it's much less than UKIP.

The Conservative Party membership has fallen by just over 6000 since David Cameron became its leader (based on voting figures released with the result of the party's 'Built to Last' internal referendum). Earlier this year, the Conservative official website implied that the party had 300, 000 members. Which would mean that the membership has dropped not by about 6000 - but by 53, 000 since David Cameron took over last December.
