The Unionist politicians in the Labour Party, Conservative & Unionist Party, Liberal Democrats and UKIP, all seem to have their head in the sand regarding the impending end of the Union.
Granted, that polls for English Independence and an English Parliament in July 2006 are respectively 31% and 41%, so English Nationalist, would have to concede that although a significant MINORITY now support ENGLAND as apposed to BRITAIN, we are not currently in the majority in England. HOWEVER, in Scotland 46% already support FULL Scottish Independence away from England http://www.snp.org/snpnews/2005/snp_...20Independence The likely scenario is that in May 2007 Scotland will vote for an SNP Goverment, and shortly afterwards a referendum on Scottish Independence will be held. So assumming Scotland becomes an independent nation, what will England Wales and Northern Ireland be called. United Kingdom - would hardly be appropriate ! Great Britain - would hardly be appropriate ! So I guess we get left with either Britain or Greater England or do we simply use this as an opportunity to chuck aside Wales and N Ireland and call ourselves England ! ED |

Well your bit is officially gonna be France!
So get a life, and start working to get the EU out of the UNITED KINGDOM.

I wholeheartedly agree, Simon Muir. I've got a new name if that heartbreaking scenario ever happened. How about this: Island populated by demented idiots who couldn't see the wood for the trees and allowed the EU's beaurocrats to set fellow Briton upon fellow Briton against each other and ended-up as as powereless provinces in the Greater Europa run by Brussels and Berlin!  Admittedly, very long-winded and not a sensible name but it sums-up the resultant situation well I feel.

Be careful This England, if you move any further to the right then the all knowledgeable one from Woking will have to decide whether or not you are persona non grata. Whatever he decrees will be gospel and any further discussion is pointless!

Big deal. That still leaves a massive problem. If British Nationalism doesn't have much support then why does the BNP have more councillors than the ED's have? |
