This seems a party with some potential.
Has the slogan "Proud to be Scottish, Proud to be British".
Its in the old Unionist tradition of appealing to Scottish Nationalism as well as British Unionism.
It could all so make great use of the Orange vote in Scotland.

The old Scottish Unionist party 1912-65 before it merged with the Conservatives pushed anti-immigration policys and supported a Scottish Parliament.
It gained over 50% of the Scottish National vote in the 1955 election.

I've looked at their site and beyond that they have concerns about the education system & support the Union remain pretty clueless about them. I could do a load of external research on them but as details like who is in the leadership, when they were created, what if any electoral activity has been done in the past or is intended in the future are absent from their own website I won't bother.

Except for UKIP.

They do need a lot more policys and they do need to come out firmly against the EU and Immigration.
The website I agree is very limited.
I have looked into their electoral performance at the last General Election.
They stood in two seats both in Glasgow gaining around 5% in both of them, nearly beating the Conservatives in one.
UKIP would do far better by putting their Scottish wing behind these boys.
You must appeal to local traditions.

The Scottish Unionist Party (SUP) is a small political party operating in Scotland. It was formed in the mid 1980s by members of the Scottish Orange Order disillusioned with the then-Conservative government for signing the Anglo-Irish Agreement. Traditionally supportive of the Conservatives, these Orangemen felt that the signing of the treaty giving the Republic of Ireland a role in the government of Northern Ireland was a betrayal of Protestants and decided to form their own party instead.

The SUP is an ideologically Scottish Unionist party which opposes the idea of Scottish independence from the rest of the United Kingdom. It has contested a number of elections, including both the 1999 and 2003 Scottish Parliament elections. In the latter, the SUP contested only the Glasgow, Central Scotland and West of Scotland Additional Members System electoral regions, polling fairly poorly. It also contested only six local council wards in 2003, all located in the west central belt where the traditional "Orange vote" resides. In one Glasgow city centre seat, they achieved a respectable second place comfortably beating the other parties.

The SUP also stood for two seats at the 2001 General Election, in Glasgow Springburn and Airdrie and Shotts. The party managed to retain its deposit in the former, and almost do so in the latter. This was not so surprising in Springburn where there was no Conservative candidate (being the Speaker's seat), but in Airdrie and Shotts, despite the presence of a Conservative, they still managed to poll 4.5% of the vote.

I am glad there are some Scots who realise that being Scottish and being British are not incompatible with each other and that they can be proud to be BOTH. Scotland should reject the divisive SNP - a party which is a mirror image of Sinn Fein though fortunately without the armed wing.
