yes where does the criminal act end and the mad mental patient begin.
seems it is best to say you are mad if you caught doing a murder. of course there are the violent insane. but whatever, these types do not have a right to freedom. |

Horrific.
Difficult in some ways. Should someone suffering from AS (known difficulties with social interaction) really have been given a job in a fast food place? Did McDonalds know about his disorder prior to employing him? It would seem that it was a known condition for this guy. On a slightly different tack, surely ANYONE who commits murder is mentally deranged to some extent. It isn't an activity that many of us routinely engage in. It simply isn't normal behaviour. Thus, it is abnormal. And, since it is so rare, it must be very abnormal. And socially unacceptable. So we have very abnormal, very rare, and socially unacceptable acts. That makes me question the sanity of those who commits such acts. Just my musings. I'm not suggesting that insanity is a reasonable defence or mitigating circumstance in most cases. |
