Default Anti-EU politician 'Tony' Benn attacks pro-EU 'new' Labour

Anti-EU politician 'Tony' Benn says 'new' Labour is the smallest political party in the country. It has just three members - Blair, Brown and Mandelson:

‘Tony’ Benn, the anti-EU former Labour Government minister, said at 7.17 am on GMTV on 17.9.2006 “Three people created ‘new’ Labour. It is the smallest political party in the country. The three were Blair, Brown and Mandelson. Brown sees himself as next in line in ‘new’ Labour for the succession. Ramsey McDonald reduced us (the Labour Party) to 50 seats in the Commons, but we recovered from that, getting a landslide in 1945. We (the Labour Party) will recover from ‘new’ Labour too. ‘Modernisation’ (the term used by ‘new’ Labour supporters) is now ‘so 19th century’. People have seen through it (‘modernisation’ and ‘new’ Labour). Don’t underestimate the intelligence of the public. One constitutional change Blair made was bringing in a medieval monarchy – himself. He makes all the decisions and polices. He has made himself a medieval monarch.”

George Galloway, the Respect (anti-Iraq ‘war’) party MP (who was expelled from the Labour Party) said on his TalkSport radio programme at 9.56 pm on 17.9.2006 “I’ve always said that ‘Tony’ Benn who is coming on my anti-war march next Saturday (in Manchester) is the greatest Prime Minister we never had.”

extra ordinary is just starting out
Default

I once had tony benn down on my list of heros, not nowadays as left wing politics are not for me, however I do feel sorry for the real left wing traditionals like benn and denis skinner, we have never been offered a real labour administration as a direct choice opposite to the tories.
now of course the tories are not real tories. what a foggy picture.

fake labour
fake tories
and libdems -
know what ? they are all the same. where is the voter choice ?

just ukip plain and simple. now come on public, vote for us - you know you want to.

Default Benn - wealthy man who drinks trea from a mug

'Tony' Benn tries to present himself as 'a man of the people' and for the 'working class' - even occasionally being seen drinking tea from a mug.

It doesn't alter the fact that the man is wealthy and still from the 'aristocracy' despite having made a great hullabaloo about giving up his title in the Lords.

Entertaining and sometimes interesting to listen to - but just like so many 'in Labour' - wealthy and claiming to have a concern for the poor. I would suggest that some working class voters find this patronising.
