You have a great website which I am sure we all appreciate very much. I am sure we all also recognise that we can only read and post here thanks to your kind self. In that light I am sure that we all (despite or because I am sure we are all "grown up") take your requests with the seriousness and grace they deserve. That will however not change the fact that there are Conservative supporters and voters (including some of us who have read and contributed to your website from the outset) that to put it lightly remain unimpressed if not dismayed by the Cameron leadership. As I have said before there is hardly a day goes by without my cringing at what the current leadership has to say. Perhaps they do not deserve to be taken seriously?

I agree that on the internet we don't want to broadcast character
assassinations as this is the least attractive and easiest form of attack, but I do agree with esbonio's view above. Our great party has been hijacked by Blair wannabes and all three parties are
fighting to keep the support of the so-called (minority) centre ground. Tax is the main bread & butter issue, and if 10 million people want to emigrate because of high tax ( recent newspaper survey), the Conservative leadership should take this on board. There can be no econonmic stability with high taxation because it is self evident that less spending power creates recession. The only way to have economic stability is to slash taxes and start returning the GBP9000 per family that the Labour Government has taken from us since 1997. Lord Tebbit has rightly said that the left and right of the political spectrum are being ignored, and together with the traditional non-voters, they now jointly form the majority of the electorate. Bromley showed how popular Cameron is ( despite the popularity polls)and frankly, if a man sounds like a buffoon, acts like a buffoon, then he probably is a buffoon.

I'm embarrased to think what a non-partisan visitor would make of it sometimes. If this carries on I can see many bloggers with much to add drifting away, which would be a great shame.

It seems that an increasing number of people just like to post personal insults to the leadership every day.Apart from anything else it becomes very dull.
I really do wonder if somwe of these people are just trolls trying to ruin a fine blog.

I don't think that they are. I think that most of them, like me, are concerned by the the strange policies that are being espoused in the name of the Conservative party. And Mr Osborne, with his colourful past, must expect that the older members of this blogging community will look to him to demonstrate a newly-acquired maturity, character and an ability to think radically about his brief: for my part, at present, I can only see him as a telegenic lightweight who would be more at home on Richard & Judy's sofa rather than the Front Bench.

There are many sceptical Conservatives who have reservations about the direction the party is taking and put well reasoned arguments but even they are posting less and less. Instead we get malevolent and hysterical accusations of treachery, re-cycled Monday Club speeches from twenty plus years ago, talk of party being hijacked etc.
