Default Step up extremism fight - Kelly

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4789617.stm

Quote:
The government and Muslim communities must do more to combat the growth of extremism, communities secretary Ruth Kelly has said.
She said there had been some "sharp" and "challenging" exchanges during more than three hours of talks with Muslim leaders in London.

She denied any link between the rise of extremism and British foreign policy.
Yes, she is right the Muslim community have some hard questions to ask of themselves and if they don't, then the government will have to take a much firmer line. Indeed, the government has to accept it's responsibility for the conditions it has created here. Britain is supposed to be a tolerant and decent country to come to, but not at any expense. The sickening lack of action agains extremist nutters, such as those who called for beheadings etc has to end now!

Also dismissing Britains foreign policy as having a role in all this is not on. It is quite clear that our foreign policy definitely has had much effect, in stiring up anger, removing trust in government and giving people excuses to do these things. Not valid for killing civilians in my eyes, but never the less, young impressionable minds may see differently.

In short, this isn't a simple case of one group being at fault and taking all of the blame. This government has not helped in any way and indeed has giving the fanatics excellent recruitment material. The Muslim community isn't the only group that has to look itself in the mirror, and take drastic actions to start moving us back to normality.

The whole thing is a PR exercise and a disgrace!

Why is a government minister meeting 'muslim leaders'?

Why are there 'muslim leaders'?

Once again, it's special treatment for the muslim political movement.

The 'muslim' position is both untenable and unacceptable. It is evidence of a refusal to integrate, and to accept our political culture. Worse, it is evidence of loyalty not to this country and its citizens, but to other muslims in other countries.

Muslims are exploiting our tolerance and democracy to destroy both. Oswald Moseley's Brown Shirts weren't allowed to do it, neither should the facist muslim movement be allowed to do so.

We should take a leaf out of the Australian governing party's book.

This foriegn policy nonsense needs correcting. Showing the Channel 4 dispatches documentary from 1999 with Abu Hamza and highlighting the fact its 1999 will put an end to all this nonsense. The foriegn policy is just an excuse so the Liberals find it easier to feel sorry for those who want to kill them.
