Tim Bell, a former PR adviser during the time of Mrs. (now Lady) Thatcher said on television a couple of days ago that the proposed new Conservative logo (a tree) is a very funny (i.e. peculiar) way of trying to modernise the (Conservative) Party.
Someone on LBC (London) radio who works in PR was asked to look at both suggested Conservative logos (both trees) and was not impressed. One critic said the Conservative Party is trying to look modern - but it picks as its new logo an oak tree that could be up to 1000 years old. Others have said (in jest) the tree has been taken from the flag of Lebanon and the Conservative Party should just go all the way and adopt the whole flag of Lebanon as its new logo. |

I think it shows that the Conservative & Unionist party is in terminal decline
Camoron has shifted position to gain 5% of the voters in the centre but will be loosing 10-15% of voters on "the right". As for the tree I see what you mean !!!!!! Conservatives ![]() |

He has links to Tory Radio, backed a Tory candidate for Mayor of London and wants the same leadership team to continue at UKIP too.
You decide.

Only a member for such a short time and already rubbing people up the wrong way!
Is he active in his local branch - or is his campaigning purely internet based? Any recent letter in the press - delivered a few thousand leaflets in his locality - organised a public meeting or demonstration - knocking door to door with petition forms? |

The risk is that they lose both - the Conservative candidate at the Bromley By-Election on 29.6.2006 ('Bob' Neill, who voted for europhile 'Ken' Clarke in two Conservative leadership contests) certainly lost about 10, 000 'real' (i.e. eurosceptic) Conservative votes - and didn't get the 'liberal' metro vote either. As for the tree - it has no appeal as a logo at all. Unlike the elegant flag of England used very effectively by the English Democrats and the Campaign for an English Parliament. |
