There was an article in 'The 'Times' about this very subject, the dumbing down of the Beeb's 'Question Time', a few months ago. It seems that many politicians are extremely reluctant to appear because they fear humiliation from difficult questions or hostility from the audience. Consequently the programme makers have to resort to asking Z list celebrities to appear.
To which I say "Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo, Boo Bloody Hoo !"    If politicians are too chicken to appear before a live audience, how come they have enough bottle to pontificate away to the British public from a nice TV studio with a nice safe tame questioner ? And what about reconecting voters to politicians ? So if some Z list nobody appears, where the f*** are our MEPs :?: |
