It won't fade away until there's something to take its place. That won't be the BNP. It might - just - be UKIP.
Must admit, if the Tory party goes, UKIP would have my vote, UNLESS Liam Fox started a new party, in which case I'd vote for him.

In the cause of effecting EU business, yes. Digging up dirt on the scamhouse, then no, but you can dig up dirt in whatever group you choose to be in. It's irrelevant and has no effect on anything what circus group you choose to be in. They are all clowns at the end of the day, providing a fig leaf of democracy, when the comission is the only real power.

Personally, I find Liam Fox very appealing. His post-Thatcherite views made him very popular within the party, as did his 'broken society' speech.

If there was popular uptake from the remains of the Tory party, his party would instantly overtake UKIP, no question.

No, unfortunately you are right in what you say. In which case in every election while Cameron is in charge I'll be voting UKIP.

Lindsay's shelf life might not be over in parliamentary terms. Say approx 4 years to next election, making her 63. Another five year term making her 68, then perhaps retirement ? Remember that hideous old turd Edward Heath was in parliament untill he was about 85 or something !

Yes, but you don't normally start a new career when you are over 60, unless you are a lollipop lady. Heath was a young man when he first entered parliament.

When I was an officer of the local Tories we had a major selection row over a prominent local councillor who wanted to be the PPC. Turned out he had shaved nearly 10 years off his age and was nearly 60. He still had plenty of champions.

He wasn't selected. A few years later he went on to be convicted of gay underaged sex activities and was jailed for 2 years.

He is currently busy trying to 'reinvent' himself as a local personality.
