Prescott issues apology after Council Tax blunder

The more I hear, the more I can't stand this man. He makes out he is a socialist, but then buys second homes to rent out, proving he is a capitalist. Champagne socialism really does take hypcorisy to new levels.

Add to this his "mistake" (even though he probably has an accountant) and the true image of the man shines through.

Hi mkpdavies,
As with most politicians, they couldn't care less if they do anything wrong or break the law, but what they ARE bothered about is being found out . We all know that Prescott is a baboon, sorry, buffoon,( baboons are intelligent ). What is the point of him and more importantly, what does the Taxpayer pay him to do ?
I think I am going to pursue this Council Tax oversight further !!!! Surely every residence has a council tax bill delivered to the premises every year and if it is not paid by the owner of the premises ,then doesn't the owner have to fill in forms to say why the taxpayer should foot the bill ?

BTW., sorry if I upset you yesterday !!!

Hi everybody,
So Prescott owes £ 3830 in arrears on Council Tax.
Can I remind everyone that these arrears were for EIGHT years on an 18th century penthouse apartment at Whitehall's Admiralty House. This apartment is in one of the plushest area of London, and after EIGHT years he only owes £ 3830 !!!
So Prescott ignored reminders for Council Tax payments for EIGHT years ?
So Prescott ignored Bailiff's attempts to obtain the money on the Council's behalf ?
So Prescott ignored letters from the Courts to get the money owed ?
Has this Hypocrite and Tax Cheat got to be squeezed, dragged and tortured to get the truth from him ? But there again, as one of Blair's henchmen, lying is probably second nature to him.

Most every morning he was on Today,
Though they couldn't figure what he was tryin' to say.

And chuckled like a friendly kind of chap - Big John.
Big Fat John.

He liked his breakfast and he liked his lunch
And he drove his Jag and he packed a punch.
But "John is John" was all that Tony Blair
Would say of his deputy, which was more than fair - to John.
Big Thick John.

And he bought a house with castellations
Like one of them disused rural stations.
And he also had the use of Dorneywood
And an Admiralty flat which was also good - for John.
Three-homes John.

He built houses for nurses in the Thames Gateway
Though if the tide rose high they'd be washed away.
He was so darned busy what with this and that
He forgot to pay the tax on his freebie flat - did John.
Flat tax John.

Angry and stupid and greedy and mean,
He made Blair's New Labour look fit and clean - old John.
Tired, sad John.
