Rt. Hon. Tony Blair Tuesday 29 June 2005
Prime Minister
10 Downing Street
LONDON SW1A

Dear Mr Blair,

re: British Presidency of the European Union - 1 July to 31 December 2005:
Ten-Point Plan

I write to urge you to achieve the following 10 points outlined below.

The people of France and Holland have emphatically rejected the European Constitution. If allowed a vote, the British would undoubtedly do so too by an even greater majority. Throughout Europe, the people are saying that the transfer of powers to the European institutions has gone far enough. Many say that the process has already gone too far.

Whilst our party’s position is that Britain should revert to the free trade agreement promised to voters in the 1975 referendum on membership of what was the then Common Market - and whilst we recognise that your government is committed to Britain remaining in the European Union and that you are currently planning to transfer even more power away from Westminster to Brussels - nevertheless I believe there are 10 practical steps you can take, over the next 6 months, which - although inevitably falling well short of reverting Europe to being essentially a free trade area, would nevertheless achieve a great deal for the people of Britain, Europe and even those beyond Europe:

1. Agreement on a wholesale reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, which has been promised for 30 years, but never achieved

2. Progressive reduction of tariff barriers, especially those affecting African countries, who cannot compete fairly against heavily subsidised European farm products

3. A complete overhaul of E.U. powers to examine which E.U. powers it would now be appropriate to hand back to national Parliaments, so that the E.U., becomes leaner and able to concentrate on doing fewer jobs well, rather than too many jobs poorly – as almost all in Europe agree is now the case

4. Agreement to overhaul for once and for all, the lax accounting procedures (which Neil Kinnock failed to when in office) and implement new accounting procedures which will stem the tide of corruption and fraud which costs the people of Europe billions of pounds every year

5. Agreement to remove the immunity from prosecution of staff of the European Union, including EUROPOL Police Officers, on the principle that no British government should ever have consented to anyone in this country - or elsewhere in the European Union - being immune from prosecution

6. An agreement with our E.U. partners for Britain to be repatriated its 200-mile limit, to help our declining fishing industries and put us back in charge of conserving our fishing stocks, one of the most abject failures of E.U. policy, due to overfishing by the fishing fleets of other E.U. countries

7. An agreement to save European taxpayers millions of pounds a year by closing down the unnecessary European Parliament building, in line with the recent vote by the European Parliament to transfer all its business to Brussels, which France is blocking

8. An immediate review of the tens of thousands of E.U. regulations to see if the growing burden on business - which practically everyone now recognises is making European countries progressively more uncompetitive in the global economy - can be reduced, either by revoking some regulations altogether, or making them significantly less onerous to comply with

9. Immediate abandonment of the stealthy attempts to implement any step provided for in the European Constitution, which the French and Dutch have comprehensively rejected and which the British people would also be likely to reject by an even bigger margin, if given the chance

10. An urgent review of the exploitative ‘agreements’ between the E.U. and several West African countries which has caused severe disruption to the fishing and coastal economies of those countries

I await your reply.

Yours sincerely

Robert Kilroy-Silk (dictated by him and signed in his absence)

Default Kilroy's letter to B-liar

Thank you Algypug for letting us see the letter from the talented Mr. Kilroy-Silk .

They've probably got a standard letter (written by a europhile civil servant) to use in reply to correspondence such as Kilroy’s to B-liar. I bet they get at least 50 letters like that sent to Downing Street every week  .

Kilroy won’t get a straight answer (from B-liar) on anything, of course - but I'm sure he knew that when he wrote the letter.

We should be aware that anyone who writes a letter of complaint about the EU to a Lie-bour or Laboural ‘Democrat’ (LD) MP will almost certainly have his/her name and address ‘blacklisted’ by Lie-bour or LD HQ on their election canvassing records  .

Britannist - dont you think your slightly obsessed with the Lib Dems

This thread is about Veritas sending a Letter to the Labour leader and you talk about the Lib Dems.

and to answer your question its good practice, basically if you know the person who lives at a certain address supports another party there is no point sending anything else out and the person who lives at that address would probably appreciate not getting any form of canvassing as thier opinions are already known

Actually you fairly often talk about the Lib Dems on the UKIP Forum. And so what if he wishes to talk about the Lib Dems. They are our biggest enemy bar the EU and Tony Bliar y'know.

And I agree it would be funny if he turned out to be a libby demmy.
