Default Toryboy Osborne bombs against Brown

Tory nerves were strained further when Gordon Brown, the Chancellor, easily fended off an attack by George Osborne, 34, one of the party's rising stars who was making his Commons debut as shadow chancellor - the seventh Mr Brown has faced since 1997.

Osborne was pitiful. He looked and sounded like a scared fifth former making his first appearance before the school debating society.

Bye bye George
