Default Labour Dirty Tricks Dept

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2001/01..._dirty_tricks/

Quote:
The Labour Party has been heavily implicated in a political dirty tricks campaign carried out over the Internet. Thousands of anti-Plaid Cymru messages posted to various political newsgroups have been traced back to the Labour Party's communications headquarters in Millbank, London.
This is the kind of thing ALL opponents of Labour are up against. They are a well greased machine, ready to use all means at their disposal, by fair means or foul.

Quote:
The whole issue raises the spectre of a co-ordinated propaganda campaign over the Internet by New Labour from Millbank as the election draws near. The position in Wales makes Labour particularly sensitive to Plaid Cymru. Of the 60 elected assembly members, 28 are Labour, 17 Plaid Cymru, 9 Conservative and 6 Liberal Democrat. Despite a coalition between Labour and the Lib Dems, the nationalist Plaid Cymru poses a significant threat to Labour's power in Wales.

The other question is: if in Wales, then why not in other parts of the UK? If Labour has embarked on an anonymous dirty tricks campaign, it won't do its image any good to have this widely touted just before an election.
We could already have the enemy among us. Bear this is mind when reading posts from people who claim to be UKIP supporters. There is no doubt in my mind that Labour will try and hijack this forum at some point, if they haven't already started laying the foundations!

I am surprised that there is not more 'official' participation from all parties on internet boards. Not in the underhand way described here, but just to defend and promote their policies.

It's pretty hard to defend the indefencible. Don't forget that a lot of people who join the main parties do so thinking of a career in politics. They don't want some old internet posting coming back to bite them in the ****.

Most people who support UKIP couldn't care less about a career in politics, we just want to save our country and way of life!
