Default Big four auditors too powerful, says EU

http://www.guardian.co.uk/eu/story/0...375821,00.html
Quote:
The big four accountancy firms could face EU action to break up their dominance in carrying out audits for the largest firms in Britain and elsewhere in the world, a Brussels official warned yesterday.
Alexander Shaub, director general of internal markets at the European commission, said the big four's preponderance was a "dangerous timebomb", as they audit all the top 100 companies in Britain.
So let me get this straight, Britain is going to start taking lessons on auditing from the EU? One of the least corrupt organisations on the planet, will be overhauled by one of the most corrupt organisation!

You couldn't make this up!

No, you couldn't. Luckily we have some corrupt unelected bureaucrats to do it for us.

I'd love to get inside the mind of an EU phony one day, they must be laughing their heads off at us working folk

No, you see, you've got it all wrong. They don't see a problem with this sort of thing; they honestly believe that all the corruption and waste is worth it, and merely a side issue, as they're working towards the far more important dream of European Utopia. I'm not joking. It's a mindset; you should see the glow in their eyes when talking about it.

I believe you.

It is an ideal which they have adopted and having done so are blind to all else.

'Tis known as manic obsessive disorder or some thing ...

M.O.D. ? heh heh
