Default Why is Blunkett still here?

You can't see the fire for all the smoke there is. All his collegues hate him because of his arrogant comments. He has shown bad judgement, and looks like he has misused his position on multiple occasions. His back benches call him unbalanced and he seems to be the biggest liability to the Labour party since Peter Mandelson.

Why is he still here?

Blair went on about sleaze ad nauseum, and promised us he would clean up politics.

LIAR!

I must be a heartless bar steward.

Blunkett was on T.V. pouring out his heart, that he only did it for his little boy, sniff sniff. "What kind of man would the public think I was, if I put my career before that little boy!"

Bleep off.

You always put yourself and your career above everything, you were caught, got what you deserved and finally had to fall on your sword. I'm sure you will have a nice cushy job in the EU waiting, for all your loyal **** licking of Blair you have done.

Bye!

Quote:
David Blunkett has quit as home secretary after an e-mail emerged showing a visa application for his ex-lover's nanny had been fast tracked.
Mr Blunkett said he had done nothing wrong because the visa had been processed by the "system".

But he said questions about his integrity had been damaging the government.

Sir Alan Budd is due to unveil the findings of his inquiry INTO phpbb_the allegations in the next few days.

Mr Blunkett said: "I have always been honest about my recollection of events.

"But any perception of this application being speeded up requires me to take responsibility. "That is why with enormous regret I have tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister today."
I predict that, if he is re-elected in the general election, he will be back in the cabinet within 18 months.

Yes, he'll be back.

Question is, will the government now drop his ID card scheme, or has it gone so far that they will carry on with it anyway because they think it'll be too embarrasing to drop it?

Clarke, the yes-man taking over the post has previously aired his reservations.

Watch as he magically changes his views and falls INTO phpbb_line with his boss.

Watching all the "political opponents" coming out in sympathy for Blunkett is making me feel sick. I think I shall turn the T.V. off and have a beer!

I swear I must be living in another dimension to everyone else, if Blunkett has just been forced out of office with integrity!

I really thought that they couldn't go any lower but they have managed it.
The thing about Blair's letter to Blunkett is that if the primeminister believes what he has written then it is proof that he is insane! Either way it is scary!

MPK needs an award for 'pre-emptive thread of the day!" A wagon wheel should suffice.
