Default Facts

Fact: All the Parties are losing members and Labour most of all, with the Exception of UKIP.
Fact: We have 2 Parties on the Left - Labour and Libs. We now have 2 Parties on the Right - UKIP and Conservatives.
Fact: If the polls about Labour are true, then we should follow their example with Sleaze, Spin, Lies, High Taxes and Nannying as it is proving to be popular with the masses? O.K. I made that up, but the people will wake up sooner than you think. A week is a very, very long time in Politics and anything can and will happen before the Election, so forget the polls, and lets get some votes, they are there for the taking.

I don't think that it makes sense to talk in terms of left and right.

We have two authoritarian parties - Labour and Conservatives
We have two liberal parties - UKIP and the Liberal Democrats.

UKIP and the Lib Dems have very different approaches to their liberalism. Ours is based on a desire for freedom and protection of our liberal heritage. The Lib Dems are more concerned with promoting human rights.

Let's not forget that it was the Tories who began the authoritarian style government. They just weren't very good at it. Neo Labour has the skills and the will to implement a police state.

Voting Conservative is not an option if you want Britain to stay independent. They have said over and over again that the EU is a good thing and a large portion of the party believe it. Voting for a heart attaack (Conservative) to stop you getting cancer (Labour), is not really a solution is it.

We need to vote for a cure, and UKIP is the only party that offers that.

Default Left Right Left Right

UKIP is not a right wing party
You are right in that it is all semantics, but do I detect a note of dissaproval for a 'right wing' label?
If so why? Are you buying INTO phpbb_the New Labour/BBC/Guardian Mantra of Left wing Good, Right wing Bad?
The Republicans in America are successful, because unlike the Tories, they never apologise, they don't allow the Democrats to set the agenda and give them the terms of reference they must speak under. UKIP are 'off' message and should always remain so. Never let New Labour off the Hook. Remember that a lot of their cabinet is made up of ex? communists. Communists, remember them - Stalin, Cambodia, North Korea. Keep the confidence in your ideas, otherwise you will always be on the Back foot and end up like the Tories.

Not disapproval, I just think that it is the wrong label. The Guardian frequently refers to us as a far-right party, which is just lazy journalism, so I don't think that it is helpful for us to talk in terms of left and right. Every time someone hears the words "UKIP" and "right" they have the word "far" in there too.

I think he is probably like me and really doesn't see himself or the party as "right wing".

Personaly I have views that would be considered left, right and everywhere in between. It is very difficult to put politics in to simple boxes like this now.

Labour can now be called right wing on the issues of war, and some law and order issues. They are communist almost on their wish to share Britains wealth to help out the poor nations in Europe.

It just isn't that simple anymore!

And just to reinforce the difference between the Tories and UKIP, the Conservatives are now backing the government plans for ID cards. That is an authoritarian policy of the worst kind.

Yep - just caught that on the R4 news.

Remind me - exactly what is the difference between Labour and Conservative policies?
